But like any technical product, it involves a long manufacturing process that is made up of different materials, among them a latex palm, which is made from a natural, soft, smooth and spongy material, extremely delicate and that needs careful attention for its correct conservation.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR GOALKEEPER GLOVES

From here we are going to give you some tips so that you can give the best care to your goalkeeper gloves, extending mainly the life of the latex as we indicated above.

STEP 1 - USE / CARE

First and foremost as we explained in our post about the different types of goalkeeper cuts, it is important to acquire the type of glove that best suits your needs, frequency of use, terrain etc. ... Considering the basic rule that the higher the level/percentage of pure latex within the palm the grip will be better, but we will consequently find a lower durability and vice versa.

Once we take into account this grip/resistance dynamics, it is important to acquire a good technique so that our work tool, the goalkeeper gloves suffer the least possible.

In this field the little details help a lot, not only when it comes to blocking the ball, but also when getting up after going to the ground. Although it may seem like a small detail, getting up off the ground with the help of the glove's fist as a support instead of the palm will help to considerably reduce the wear of the palm, especially if we play in aggressive synthetic terrains.

STEP 2 - CONSERVATION / MAINTENANCE

After the use of your goalkeeper gloves in each training or match, it is important and very necessary to remove them from our backpack or sports bag, leaving them to air dry at room temperature. Since, on the contrary leaving them in a closed space and without ventilation after using them, could make the humidity end up deteriorating the palm of the glove, leaving it stiff.

It is not strictly necessary to wash the glove after each use, since the continuous washing could also end up advancing their deterioration, but letting them "breathe" at room temperature daily like we stated earlier is indeed recommended.

STEP 3 – CLEANING YOUR GOALKEEPER GLOVES

In case it is necessary to wash them after several uses, we must wash the gloves with warm water (maximum 30º), to eliminate the dirt, with special emphasis on the area of the palm. All this, using a neutral or specific soap for goalkeeper gloves, avoiding detergents or solvents. The process would be completed by completely soaking the glove and leaving it to soak for about 15 minutes and then rinsing them. In gloves with protections it is recommended to remove protections before the washing process, if the type of glove allows it.

After washing let the glove dry at room temperature, preferably hanging and in a cool, dry and ventilated place, without exposing it to any fluorescent light, or heat sources such as stoves, radiators, or the sun, to avoid dry or become stiff and lose their natural properties of adhesion.

As a little trick we can fill the gloves with paper, in order to reduce the drying time. So we would have our gloves ready for the next game.

It is important to note that it is essential to wash the goalkeeper gloves before their FIRST USE.
The reason is simple, when the gloves are manufactured to preserve their qualities (since they can be stored in a warehouse months before they reach your hands) chemicals are added to the latex to preserve them. These chemicals, if not removed, will leave a powder on the palm of the glove that can greatly reduce the grip they offer. The only way to remove these chemicals is by prewashing the goalkeeper gloves before they are used for the first time.

From HO SOCCER we want our customers to be satisfied with our goalkeeper gloves and we hope to continue offering top quality goalkeeper gloves that are durable and resistant so that each goalkeeper has a tool with which to beat their competitors.
