TIPS FOR SUMMER GOALKEEPER TRAININGS
The conditions for goalkeeper trainings vary greatly depending on the time of year, especially in summer. External factors such as heat or humidity determine the training guidelines.
HYDRATION
First and although obvious, hydration is one of the most important parts of every sport practice during the summer months. Being well hydrated is essential and one of the most important points to consider.
NUTRITION
Like hydration, eating well before and after training is very important to boost performance and endurance. In summer you can take advantage of seasonal foods such as fruits and vegetables. It is essential to consume enough carbohydrates and electrolytes. 5 meals a day should be made including foods such as oatmeal, rice and pasta, etc.
GOALKEEPER GLOVES
The goalkeeper glove choice is also important. For the summer months when the temperature is very hot, gloves that have a good perspiration are highly recommended, since the hands sweat much more than the rest of the months.
Within the Ho Soccer gloves, a good range for trainings in summer would be the SSG Supremo II range. This range holds lightweight glove models with a fabric back that facilitate perspiration so that the hands are always kept dry. These models are available in all types of cuts and colors. And of course, this glove range is available in children sizes.
Another problem is the glove adjustment. In Ho Soccer we propose an exclusive model to solve this problem, the Aquagrip model, which has internal latex so that the glove adjustment is the most optimal even in high humidity conditions.
WARM-UP
Although in summer our bodies are already warm, we must not forget to warm-up and stretch the body before and after training. The help from teammates to perform stretching and flexibility exercises makes the warm-up easier and is recommended.
REST
One of the recommendations that many athletes do not usually follow is to rest. In Summer, we usually overexert ourselves and rest and total relaxation of the body between each training is necessary. Massages and physiotherapy are also recommended if necessary in some cases.
We know each goalkeeper is different and trainings can vary depending on the climate of each area, but we hope these tips will help you make your goalkeeper trainings easier and more enjoyable.
